Scott Radinsky pitched 3 strong innings and left fielder Tim Raines had 4 hits
and 2 RBI as the blistering-hot Chicago White Sox bested the Minnesota Twins
10 to 3 at Metrodome.

Minnesota was unable to claim the lead after Chicago went ahead in the 5th
inning when they came up with 2 runs on 2 hits. The highlight belonged to
Carlton Fisk who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he popped a
two-run clout over the fence. Radinsky came throught with a perfect ninth
inning to earn his 9th save.

The winning pitcher was Alex Fernandez(8-12) who allowed 3 runs in 6 innings.
Allan Anderson(7-11) was the loser. He pitched 5 innings giving up 11 hits
and no walks.

No one has been able to stop Chicago lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 8 games.

It was a good day for California thanks to Abner. He smacked a three-run
homer in the 2nd inning and delivered a solo blast in the 8th inning.
California had only 4 hits for the game.

The victory was credited to Langston(19-10) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Jimmy Key(13-10) took the loss. He was stingy with the baserunners,
allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3 innings.

Cito Gaston was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you
see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling
the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'

In the 6th inning Detroit scored 3 runs when they had 6 base hits. Lou
Whitaker led off and got things going when he stroked a base-hit. Cecil

Fryman came to bat and banged out a single. After another out, Milt Cuyler

Tigers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 1 to 0 at Tiger
Stadium.

Tanana(16-7) was simply too much for the Milwaukee batters. He didn't give up
much, just 1 hit and 1 walk in 9 innings. The Milwaukee batters didn't put
up a fight in the 9th.

Bill Wegman(14-9) was tagged with the loss. 'I thought it was my best
performance in a long time,' said Tanana. 'I had good command early in the
game. I had my control and composure and everything went well.'
