Albert Belle ripped 3 homeruns and had 8 RBI while Doug Jones went the distance
as the Cleveland Indians destroyed the Detroit Tigers by a score of 17 to 3 at
Municipal Stadium.

Belle was really 'in the zone'. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the
3rd inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun in the 3rd inning and lofted a
three-run bomb in the 4th inning. Cleveland lit up the scoreboard in the 3rd
inning which saw them plate 9 runs on 7 hits and the 4th inning tallying 5
runs. Cleveland totaled 17 hits on the night.

Jones(1-7) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Walt Terrell(9-8)
was the loser. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 2
innings.

'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park tonight,' Belle said. 'I'm
glad I decided to play!'
