Versatile utility man Tony Phillips of the Detroit Tigers has homered in each of the team's last 3 games. What makes it unusual is the fact that all 3 homeruns were lead off homers. Phillips was the DH against the Chicago White Sox on 4/18 when he hit his 1st HR of the year leading off the game. He played 2nd base the next day and led off with a HR in that game. The next day, Phillips was playing ss, giving Allen Trammell a rest, and hit his 3rd straight leadoff HR. After a bit of a slow start, Tony has started making good contact with the ball and is being rewarded with hits.
