1991 AL Detroit Tiger Game and News

August 25, 1991

The Detroit Tigers won a hard fought game in extra innings today against the Seattle Mariners. With the game tied 2-2, Cecil Fielder hit a dramatic walk off homerun with 2 out in the 10th inning. For Fielder, it was his MLB leading 45th homer of the season and league leading 112th RBI.
Detroit will now head out to the west coast for an 8 game road trip starting in California. They currently have a 6 game lead over the 2nd place Toronto Blue Jays. The Tigers received some bad news on Mike Henneman today. He'll be out about 3 weeks with an undisclosed injury. That'll put even more pressure on Detroit's already suspect bullpen.
