1991 Game of Note: Det @ Sea.

September 3, 1991

In a great pitching duel Detroit Tiger rookie Scott Aldred threw a 2 hit shutout and the Tigers defeated the Seattle Mariners 1-0. Aldred struck out 11 batters and walked 5 while getting his 2nd Win of the season. The Tigers scored the games' only run in the 8th inning when Rob Deer tripled and later came home on a wild pitch.  *Note* In 'real life' Seattle defeated Detroit 1-0.

Scott Aldred shut down the Seattle batters on just 2 hits as the Detroit
Tigers bested the Seattle Mariners 1 to 0 at The Kingdome.
 
Aldred(2-2) dominated Seattle hitters.  He gave up just 2 hits and 5 walks in
9 innings.  Aldred racked up 11 strikeouts lowering his ERA to 4.06.  Seattle
had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
Dave Fleming(1-2) was charged with the loss in relief.  Aldred was pleased
with his performance.  He noted, 'I had good command of all my pitches.  Just
as important, my location was right on.'
