  The Toronto Blue Jays won their 9th game in a row tonight, defeating the New York Yankees 7-4. 2nd place Toronto has pulled within 4 games of the AL East leading Detroit Tigers.

First baseman John Olerud touched them all and had 2 RBI at Yankee Stadium
where the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees by the score of
7 to 4.
 
Todd Stottlemyre(13-6) was credited with the win in a less than impressive
performance.  He gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.  Both teams
finished the game with 13 hits.  
 
Stottlemyre was helped out by Tom Henke who recorded his 14th save.  Scott
Sanderson(12-11) was the losing pitcher.  He was touched for 12 hits and 2
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
