York Yankees in 24 innings by the score of 5 to 4 at The Skydome.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Finally, Toronto pulled
the game out in the 24th inning. After an out was recorded, Kelly Gruber
kicked off the action when he clubbed a solo home run. Rene Gonzales was
next and he drew a walk. Greg Myers then drew a walk. One out later, Devon
White stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk to load the bases. Alomar
came up to bat and laced a base-hit making Toronto the winners and sending
the 46,817 fans home happy. Toronto lit up the scoreboard in the 24th inning
tallying 3 runs. Toronto rapped out 20 hits for the afternoon.
Bob Macdonald(2-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Greg Cadaret(2-6) suffered the loss in relief.
