The Detroit Tigers lost a heartbreaker in Baltimore tonight. Tied 6-6, the Baltimore Orioles scored a run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the ballgame. Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays were pounding the Minnesota Twins 9-0. The red-hot Blue Jays have now won 7 in a row. Detroit, who have held 1st place in the AL East all alone since May 15, now find themselves in a tie with Toronto with 2 games left in the regular season.

Mike Devereaux stepped in and he delivered a single giving Baltimore the victory as 12,652 happy fans celebrated wildly. Baltimore rapped out 11 hits for the night. The winning pitcher was Gregg Olson(10-10) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Haas(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.
